Our client has between 4 to 7 Equipment Operator positions available at their nuclear facility located in the Southwestern United States. The selected candidates will embark upon a training program in which they will learn system design capabilities and operation of the facility’s process equipment and plant utility systems. In addition, the Equipment Operator will monitor, control and operate other production-related equipment while protecting the health and safety of the public and plant employees and preventing damage to plant equipment and structures.


Job Qualifications:

Education: Minimum of an Associates degree in a technical field. Overall, an associate’s degree in a technical field is required. Candidates who have completed or are close to completing a Bachelor’s degree will also be considered. Candidates who have or are in the process of earning a degree from Thomas Edison State College are especially desired!

Experience: At least 5 years of Naval Nuclear experience along with a minimum of 2 years of commercial nuclear equipment operations experience.

Other:
• Demonstrate the good judgment, decision making, and command and control skills to thoughtfully operate the enrichment plant systems as required to troubleshoot components or systems during off-normal and emergency conditions.
• Apply the skills learned through human performance training to prevent personal errors and errors by other team members.
• Strong aptitude in math, sciences and computers.
• Exhibits the characteristics of a nuclear professional: high work standards, questioning attitude, conservative decision-making, and striving for excellence in all aspects of job.
• Good teamwork skills.
• Strong personal integrity.
• Accountable for own actions and words.
• Ability to learn, proactively in varied settings from others, and reactively from personal or team mistakes.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation: Hourly salary starts at about $30/hr and up depending upon experience
