NURSING MANAGER

REHABILITATION SERVICES CLINICAL NURSE MANAGER

Responsibilities:

The Rehabilitation Unit Clinical Nurse Manger is accountable for the clinical nursing practice, ensuring that current rehabilitation research findings and evidence-based practice are incorporated into patient care delivery. You will ensure the daily staffing adequacy and competency of patient services professionals working in the Acute Inpatient Rehab Unit.

Responsibilities managed by the Rehabilitation Services Clinical Nurse Manger include:

• Ensure that CMS requirements of acute rehab nursing support medical necessity

• Participate in weekly Utilization Review Meetings and Patient Treatment Planning.

• Meet compliance with Title 22 and Joint Commission rehab unit requirements

• Review FIMÔ scoring, documentation and outcome data from USDmr Ô

• Assess employee and patient satisfaction surveys and action plan as driven by results

• Work towards CARF accreditation

• Serve as a rehab advocate and active member of the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses.

• Participate in relevant educational and leadership activities.

Qualifications:

Current CA RN license, BSN, BCLS; Master’s preferred with 3-5 years of clinical leadership experience in rehabilitation and or acute care. Demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning and ongoing professional development through education, certification and participation in professional organizations. Acute Rehabilitation Unit

Our Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit provides intensive rehab care to a large population of patients with stroke, brain injury, neurological disease and multiple trauma. JMH Walnut Creek Campus is a Magnet Hospital, Joint Commission Credential Stroke Center and a Level II Trauma Center for the county. We have also been named one of "America's Best Hospitals 2008" by U.S.News & World Report in five specialty areas: Orthopedics, Gastrointestinal Disorders, Respiratory Disorders, Geriatric Care and Endocrinology. The Rehabiliation Unit serves much of this population of patients.

Summary:

Each member of our team of highly qualified specialists is licensed by the State of California. Led by our board certified PM&R physician and seasoned medical staff, rehabilitation clinical specialists include: Certified Rehabilitation Nurses, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech/Language Pathologists, and Neuropsychologists, as well as Physical and Occupational Therapist Assistants.
