Adecco Engineering & Technical, a division of the world leader in staffing and recruitment of engineering and IT professionals has an immediate opening for a Mobile Software Architect for a 6 months contract opportunity in Redwood City, CA.

Our client is starting up a developing leading edge Windows Mobile devices division.
We have several Sr. Software Architect positions available in the Software Architecture and Emerging Technologies department (as well as Product Architect). We are looking for self-motivated dynamic innovators with the passion and energy to lead architectural definition of Software and services and drive the success of new exciting mobile devices.

The Sr. SW Architect will be a key member of the multi-functional team driving the innovation and competitiveness of our client's Windows Mobile Software platform and Applications. If you want to get in on the ground floor of a startup-style operation with the backing of Multi-billion dollar companies, and make a very visible impact on an exciting product line, this is the opportunity for you.

Responsibilities:
* Drive the definition of software architecture (design, quality, extensibility, maintainability, etc) of applications and frameworks for the convergence software platform.
* Provide technical leadership and expertise of the whole software and service platform
* Provide technical leadership and ownership of a technology/functional area from operator requirements, to architectural definition, and leading integration/implementation teams
* Drive technical due diligence of new vendors and new technologies and applications and make analytical recommendations.
* Participate in roadmap discussions and high level requirements analysis
* High level of external exposure to software and service (Web 2.0) industry in general, close cooperation with supplier of the major building blocks of the software platform.
* High level of internal exposure across divisions is expected to Champion the convergence software platform

Qualification Requirements:
* Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical, Software or Computer Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of working experience in software engineering
* At least 5 years of experience designing software and software architecture
* Experience is any of the following technology areas is a strong plus: FOTA; SCOMO; Windows Mobile Image Update; OMA Device Management; Direct-show frame work; etc.
* Prior Experience with Mobile
* Experience working with Mobile Operators is a plus
* Strong communication, coordination and reporting skills required
* Dynamic personality required due to start-up nature of the role as well as the high levels of responsiveness to external impulses from Silicon Valley
* Prior experience with mobile phone software development is a strong plus
* Ability to travel internationally (upto 25% of time)

Compensation: $60.00 per hour
