This position involves the recommendation, implementation and administration of accounting policies for company. This requires interaction with numerous levels of company personnel in the development, modification, documentation and/or communication of new or existing accounting policies.


Primary responsibilities are as follows:

1) Monitor and evaluate proposed and newly issued US GAAP accounting guidance issued by the FASB, SEC and other regulatory agencies with accounting rule-making authority

2) Develop, implement and communicate new policies and processes to comply with newly issued accounting standards

3) Provide technical accounting guidance related to proposed transactions to ensure conformity with US GAAP and established company policies and procedures

4) Prepare written summaries supporting accounting positions taken on significant or complex transactions

5) Draft company comments on proposed US GAAP guidance (exposure drafts) issued by the FASB, SEC or other rule-making authorities

6) Lead company's annual corporate accounting policy training initiative by developing presentation material and coordinating globally the company's participation in this training



This position reports to the Director of Accounting Research and Policy with consistent interaction with the Corporate Controller, Corporate Assistant Controllers, and Business Unit Controllers.



REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

1) Bachelors degree in Accounting, Masters degree a plus

2) CPA license

3) Minimum 5 years experience in an accounting research related position

4) Big 4 and/or large national public accounting firm experience prefered

5) Experience with US GAAP technical accounting guidance and research

6) Ability to work well with all levels of the organization, including senior management

7) Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including prior experience in training instruction

8) Strong analytical and decision-making skills

9) Proven track record evidencing leadership, teamwork, and sound accounting judgment
