Qualified candidate will provide technical leadership and excellent customer relationship management while possessing excellent formulation and R&D capabilities with strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively support both internal and external customers. Must have a thorough understanding of the product development cycle and be able to lead and/or support cross-functional teams through a project's life cycle. Provide formulation leadership for new product and reformulation initiatives, formulation training to R&D teams, and complete product development projects. Provide R&D leadership with assigned accounts, and demonstrate responsibility for project deliverables, technical support, written reports, meeting attendance, and project status updates. Assess R&D business relationships with customers with appropriate actions taken to implement mutually agreed upon objectives with follow up communication completed to internal business colleagues. Interact with customers to obtain information on future product requirements, with subsequent sharing of data with internal sales and marketing teams leading to the development of new, innovative product concepts. Provide technical leadership and/or support to Operations, Manufacturing, Customer Service and QA in new product development and product maintenance activities, including cost reductions, shelf stability studies, ingredient substitutions, etc.

BS Degree in Food Science/Technology or related Science required. Minimum 5 years experience with food product development and quality assurance experience preferably in a food production facility. Specific experience desired includes bakery filling formulation, industrial bakery production, customer interaction, hydrocolloid and starch applications, liquid products processing, industrial manufacturing and cost reduction. In addition, initiative, ambition and leadership qualities are desired.
