This is the top sales/BD position in the company and requires experience in sales management, business development and ideally some experience in program management in the Federal Sector. Our client is well-established and profitable!
Reporting to the President and Chief Operating officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
Lead business development efforts to achieve annual revenue, profit, and direct labor goals.
Roughly 75% of the incumbent’s time will involve direct interface with the marketplace, mentoring and coaching business unit BD staff (dotted line) and identifying and personally leading capture activity for large BD/ sales opportunities. This can be likened to a “player-coach” type of role.
Direct solid line responsibility for a marketing communications center, proposal center and a project management office. These management activities will account for approximately 25% of the incumbent’s time.
Lead capture management activities and develop capture strategies for new business opportunities and recompetes. Act as capture manger for large strategic opportunities and supervise capture managers for others.
Develop strategic partnerships and teaming relationships to support capture plans and sales strategies
Drive requirements for marketing and trade show strategies and attend trade shows and networking events.
In conjunction with senior management develop benchmarks and metrics aligned with business objectives to measure the effectiveness of business development and capture teams.
The ideal candidate will have:
A minimum of 15+ years experience with at least 10+ years capturing IT services engagements for a Government services provider and a minimum 5+ years leading business development efforts within and across an organization.
The ability and demonstrated experience to operate in a fast growth relatively unstructured environment. E. G. involvement in a growth drive taking an organization from $100 million to $500 million.
Demonstrated ability to define and implement a business development process including coaching and mentoring operating unit BD staff. This to include business development, CRM, opportunity qualification, capture strategy development, value proposition definition and crafting of an overall win theme.
Demonstrated success targeting and winning $50M+ government services contracts by leveraging existing contacts as well as developing and maintaining senior-level contacts within the targeted Federal agencies.
Experience working on proposal teams for large system integration procurements as a writer and reviewer
Active TS clearance, preferred. A Secret clearance may be considered.
A Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience. An advanced degree in a technology or management field would be a plus
Compensation: Base salary $190k to $220k
